Senior Buyer – Procurement and Stock Controller

THE COMPANY

TEG are a specialist engineering services company providing tailor made solutions to the aviation, biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industries around the globe. The industries we operate in, whilst very different, all require the same engineering capabilities to service their needs.

These capabilities are Design, Metrology, CAM, CNC Machining (milling, EDM & turning), Fabrication, Bending, Forming, Surface Treatments and Assembly. Overseeing these capabilities is a rigorous Quality Management System (QMS) which is regularly audited by outside bodies such as the Irish Aviation Authority, European Aviation Safety Agency and Lloyds Register.

Due to increased customer demand, TEG are now looking to add an additional dynamic and experienced procurement manager and stock controller to join our team.

This role involves building and maintaining robust supplier relationships, managing supply risks, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to source optimal solutions to meet procurement objectives ensuring the delivery of operational standards whilst maintaining costs and controlling stocks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Prepare insightful reports on project progress and cost savings.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators.
  • Define and implement yearly savings targets linked to assigned suppliers
  • Build leverage and develop sourcing strategies with key global, regional and also local supplier
  • Negotiate supply contracts and monitor performance against contractual commitments during contract life cycle and beyond
  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory Standards, promoting quality awareness and making appropriate decisions on a daily basis.
  • Participation in audits – regulatory body and customer audits.
  • Driving compliance of procurement processes, procedures and best practice initiatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of procurement activities to senior management.
  • Ensuring the smooth functioning of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and conducting regular stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy and timely availability of materials for production.
  • Coordinating with the Operations Manager to facilitate efficient stock movements and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager to optimise warehouse processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conducting cycle counts, investigate any discrepancies, Co-ordinate year-end financial stock take
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment within the warehouse.
  • Other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

The preferred candidate will have the following:

  • Previous procurement experience, ideally in a manufacturing sector or compliance-driven setting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • analytical skills.
  • A professional background in commercial buying, is desirable.
  • Proven track record as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, or Sourcing Manager.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment, preferably in a lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and stock control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientious/thorough approach to assigned tasks.
  • Relevant engineering experience or Product Knowledge.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
